Learning outcomes 

After this course, a student knows the basics of optimization theory. The student recognizes different optimization problems.  The student can formulate an optimization problem and choose an appropriate solution method for the problem. The student can solve different type optimization problems.


Formulation of optimization problem, optimality conditions, classification of optimization methods, selecting appropriate method, linear optimization, nonlinear continuous optimization, discrete and combinatorial optimization, modern methods of optimization.
