Attendance of the first session is required to secure a place on the course. Course-specific, practical arrangements are agreed during the first session.
In order to complete the course and to be eligible for the course exam (if there is one), the student needs to meet the attendance requirement and successfully complete all course assignments within the set deadlines.
If the student has exceeded the maximum number of absences or has failed to submit course assignments in the set deadlines, the course enrolment is terminated. In this case the student cannot take part in the course exam or retake exam, but the course needs to be retaken in its entirety.
Lectures, spoken and written pair and group exercises and independent studies, for example.
You should reserve 108 hours of total working time for the course. The maximum number of contact teaching hours is 48, some of which may be arranged in another manner agreed by the teacher and class.
Online and other material.
Active participation in group instruction (at least 50% attendance), completing course assignments, final exam and possible midterm exam. The course grade (5-0) is
based on both continuous evaluation and course assignment and exam grades. The minimum score required to pass the final exam is 65% of the maximum total score.
If a student gets a fail grade, he has the right to a retake exam.
The course starts at beginner level.
The course is intended for international degree students and staff members at the University of Eastern Finland.
