Learning outcomes 

Students are able to apply speech research methods for independent acoustic analysis tasks in Praat. In addition, they know how to design and implement listening tests.


Waveform, spectrum, spectrogram, f0, formants, intensity. Segmentation and labelling of speech. Editing and manipulation of the speech signal. Listening tests.

Exercises 24 h, homework assignments 28 h, exam 2 h

Teaching methods 

Flipped classroom. Exercises in the computer class (attendance not compulsory) and as homework assignments.
