Learning outcomes 

Student will gain some knowledge of materials science, particularly regarding porous, anisotropic, hygroscopic and time-dependent materials, as well as composites and laminates made of them.

 
Content 

Essentials: Properties and material properties. Thermal and moisture expansion. Sorption and hysteresis. Diffusion, conductance, flow. Porosity effects. Complementary knowledge: Thermal transitions. Composites. Strength. Special knowledge: Time-dependent material behavior.
