Description
Learning outcomes 

Only teaching that is deemed crucial to be offered as in-person teaching will be organised as in-person teaching in the autumn semester 2020. Protein and molecular modeling (PROMM) course cannot be organized without in-person teaching but course is not crucial, PROMM will be postponed into autumn 2021.  There is possibility to get to know Molecular Modeling and perform exam concerning Molecular Modeling linked Pharmacy literature course.

 

Students learn widely used molecular modeling methods and their theoretical background. S/he can apply molecular modeling methods for protein modeling and drug design. Student have understanding about of the differences of methods and can use some of the methods in modeling tasks.

 
Content 

Different molecular modeling techniques which are suitable for small molecules and proteins. Students will get known to molecular modeling software and its usage in drug design. The course will provide good basics to other modeling courses or for independent studies.

Examination (at least 50% of maximum) and participating practical sessions (100% presence), successfully completed assignments

PR4, PR5, BioMed4, graduate students, exchange students, JOO-studies

Maximum 24 students are annually accepted to the course.

First priority PR4/PR5 and exchange students and graduate students of School of Pharmacy, second priority BioMed4 and exchange students. In second priority are first those BioMed students who have finished their B.Sc and exchange students. In case of exchange students, the place in course will be confirmed in middle of September.
