Learning outcomes 

In the course, an overview of the different organizations and activities involved in R&D of pharmaceuticals, nationally and internationally, including e.g. immaterial rights related procedures. After completion of the course, the student should be able to

- describe the typical research and development stages of a new pharmaceutical product and their relationships

- understand the economic and regulatory schemes in pharmaceutical R&D

 

 
Content 

Basics of pharmaceutical R&D, current development trends in pharmaceutical industry and general description of the research and development activities of new pharmaceuticals are covered, e.g. drug discovery and design, product design, nonclinical & clinical research, pharmaceutical development, immaterial property rights.

 

 
Modes of study 

Written examination.

Minimum requirement: 50 % of the total points of the final exam.
