By the end of the course, the student is able to 

  • Define the most important intoxications and their symptoms
  • Explain mechanisms of intoxications caused by most important drugs and other compounds
  • Describe general principles of diagnostics and treatment of intoxications caused by most important drugs and other compounds
  • Define main features of drug discovery, development, safety testing, marketing authorization and post-marketing surveillance
  • Identify the most important drug interactions
  • Identifiy the role of medicinal herbs and alternative drugs in drug safety
  • Familiarize the most common sources of information in clinical toxicology.
